You Have My Permission to Watch TV

I'm a gross salad eater. Usually women order salad, on dates, to look dainty. I always want a little of everything in one bite, so I shovel in a huge fork full and wind up with lettuce hanging out of my mouth. It's nasty and it's a good thing I don't go on first dates anymore, 'cause I would never be asked out for round two.

I'm telling you this because I had salad for dinner this evening and I wanted you to know how fortunate you are that you weren't sitting across the table from me.

Speaking of Revolting...

I want to give everybody a heads up about a new show I'm excited about. It's called Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and it starts on Friday, March 26th at 9:00pm on ABC. That gives you a whole week to set up your PVR, so no excuses.

I'm joking, I don't care if you watch it or not. I have a bit of a hot and cold relationship with Jamie Oliver. On one hand, he's a bubbling fountain of practical advice and no-nonsense tips. On the other hand, he has an unsavoury tendency to come across as an obnoxious, self-righteous prick.

I'm intrigued by the concept, behind the show. Jamie has ventured into the belly of the beast, Huntington, West Virginia. Last year, Huntington was anointed with the title of unhealthiest city in the United States. The plan is to start America's food revolution there and have it ripple out to the rest of the country. In the show, Jamie will educate the people of Huntington about food and nutrition and teach them how to cook for themselves.

I have high hopes for this show and for the plan it is trying to execute. A little food revolution could be a very good thing. I know I need to revolt against fast and processed food, before I become revolt-ing! hahaha

  2. I eat salad only if you can't really see the lettuce for the bacon. That way I won't risk losing my shelf ass.

  4. I actually love salad but your point cracked me up.

And I am curious about this show and how it will impact an subculture that is considered the unhealthiest in the US.

    Happy FF!

  8. Do you put Ranch on your salad? Nothing worse than someone eating salad and the ranch is oozing out the side of their mouth. Couldn't possibly be ME or the reason (besides being super fattening) I don't eat ranch anymore. :-)

Happy SITS Saturday sharefest. That show sounds good!

(Alice in Wonderland was fine for my daughter but she is now 8 - there were some parts that might be scary for little ones)
