I Loves Me Some Kickboxin'

Yesterday, as penance for my bad behaviour last week, I did my most hated workout. It's a toughy, consisting of a lot of football drills that have been modified to make them more difficult. It's effective, but it makes my head spin. When I started adding this workout to my rotation, I would be on the verge of barfing by the halfway point. I can get through it now, without feeling like I'm going to puke; so that's an improvement.

Today, as a reward for doing my most hated workout, I did my favourite workout, kickboxing. I have a bunch of kickboxing DVDs and I, pretty much, love them all. Nobody, and I mean nobody, can punch an invisible target like I can. I really nail that imaginary mugger. I nail him every time. I've kicked his head off a bunch of times too.

There's nothing like knowing I can win a fight...even if it's all in my head.

  1. I LOVE kickboxing! I miss my hubby's grad school days -- they had cardio kick classes 3 times a day and a ton of other aerobics and yoga -- unlimited classes for $50.00 a semester... Ah, the good old days...

  7. Thanks for stopping by. I guess so, Its like kickboxing. I have a friend who lost her weight dramatically with Tai bo. But she also cut down her meals.

  8. How did I forget about Tia bo? I'm a dvd girl myself not because I live in the middle of no where, because I'm still very giggly and very uncoordinated and know that I am too self conscious to go to a gym. I am however considering joining a local badminton club that plays 1 day a week to break stuff up a bit. I use to love badminton...I wonder if I still do.

  9. Badminton sounds fun, though they may actually make you play by rules...and I doubt they will award you bonus points for hitting your opponent with the birdy. Tia bo is something I'm going to have to look into.
